Since it was the 4th of July this week, I felt this was a perfect word to continue in my alphabet blog.
I am trying so hard to teach my children independence, yet when they decide to be independent and move out on their own, as a mom, I sorta freak out. I think it's probably normal. It's probably a girl-thing, but I have a hard time letting go and letting my kids grow up into the adults that I've hoped they would become. Ugh.  Having adult children is hard. It is a whole new kind of hard. And independence is a  complicated concept. I love that it can mean self-determination, power and strength!
